Back up each user on their old PC, then restore their environment on the new one: documents, desktop, browsers, Outlook, printers.

Moving to Windows 11

Portable on a USB key

Extract UserNest Pro once to a USB key, then run it on each PC without installing anything.

One folder per user and PC

Each backup goes into a user@PC folder: several PCs can share the same drive without mixing their data.

Every profile on the PC

With administrator rights, UserNest can back up all the profiles on the PC, not only the signed-in user.

Log and error report

Every copy is logged. At the end, the report lists the items in error, so nothing goes unnoticed.

Outlook, browsers, printers

Outlook PST file paths are updated on the new PC, browser profiles are copied without their caches and network printers are reconnected.

A simple licence

The licence is a signed file, UserNest.lic, placed next to the application on the USB key.

A seat is a PC backed up with UserNest Pro. It is counted on its first backup, once only.
Restore is included and never limited, on any PC.
Seats can be used for 12 months. When the licence expires, backups stop until renewal; restores remain available.
Without a licence, the Pro version can be tried on one PC.

Questions from technicians

Do I need to install anything on the client's PC?▼

No. UserNest Pro runs from the folder it was extracted to, for example on a USB key. The PC needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit).

Is a PC counted again when I restore it?▼

No. Only the first backup of a PC uses a seat. Restores are never counted, on any PC.

What happens when the licence expires?▼

New backups stop until the licence is renewed. Restores remain available.

Can I use the same USB key at several clients?▼

Yes. The list of counted PCs is stored next to the licence, on the key: a PC that has already been counted is never counted again.

Are browser passwords transferred?▼

Not for Chrome, Edge and Brave: these browsers encrypt saved passwords for the original Windows account, so they cannot be read on the new PC. Before migrating, sync them with the browser account or export them from the browser's password manager.

Does UserNest send data to a server?▼

No. Backups stay on the drive or USB key you choose, and the licence is checked offline.
